It’s hardly surprising that the VW Transporter T5 is one of the most popular vehicles we tune as the gains are (almost) unbelievable. As VW offer various power output options from new, with the only difference in the engine being the ECU software. We can transform these vans by modifying the data of the higher output version with our popular blend tuning file. This is a very safe, smooth and reliable remap. On this particular T5 which has the CAAA engine type, a Bosch EDC17CP20 ECU is fitted. We are able, using our CMD Flashtec tool to do a virtual read and download the original ECU data file from the server in Switzerland as this ECU cannot be read via the OBD port. Once our tuner Josh had modified the data we can then write it back on to the engine control unit by OBD. The process takes around 90 minutes from start to finish.
