We were asked to visit Ash in Chesterfield for one of our custom ECU remaps to his Fiat Abarth 500 1.4. He’d owned the car for three years and wanted a performance boost. We connected our MXS25 battery supply unit to ensure that the ECU has a constant 13.5 volts. On this car a Bosch ME7.9.10 ECU is fitted and using our Genuine CMD Flashtec tuning we were able to do a virtual of the car’s ECU map data. This model is not able to have the actual data backed up by OBD so a virtual read allows our tool to identify the hardware and software numbers in order for us to download a copy of the ECU data to tune. This car is already quick and Ash wanted to go to stage two to get maximum performance without other modifications. A cat bypass pipe had been fitted to the car which retained the rear lambda sensor. However as there was no cat fitted an engine management light was displayed on the instrument panel. We were able to delete this in the map. After a good test drive the owner reviewed Yorkshire Remaps on Facebook with 5* and the following comments:
“Had my abarth 500 remapped today byJason and wow power is ridiculous love it, very professional, and polite thanks again!”
